MSUās Army ROTC hosts āCadet for a Dayā for area youth

STARKVILLE, Miss.āĀé¶¹“«Ć½AVās Department of Military Science and Army Reserve Officer Training Corps is hosting a ācadet for a dayā program Sept. 9 for local and regional high school students interested in pursuing Army ROTC at MSU.
To register for the 9 a.m.-3 p.m. event, call 662-325-1586 or email armyrotc@armyrotc.msstate.edu by Wednesday, Sept. 1.
Lt. Col. Jason R. Posey, professor of military science for the Army ROTC program, said the event is open to high school and college students and will offer participants an opportunity to experience the Army ROTC program at MSU.
āThe ROTC is a way to earn a scholarship, a degree and be part of a program that will develop leadership,ā Posey said. āHopefully, interested participants will leave with a vision of a path for success at Āé¶¹“«Ć½AVand in the Army.ā
The day will begin with a tour of Middleton Hall, which houses MSUās ROTC program, followed by a tour of the university. Attendees will learn about military equipment, talk with military personnel, enjoy gaming tents and take a tour of MSUās football stadium. Lunch is provided.
