Thanks to Nutramax Laboratories CEO Dr. Todd Henderson, a 1992 graduate of Mississippi State’s College of Veterinary Medicine, the 鶹ýAVPolice Department received four Yeti coolers filled with digestive, skin, coat and joint supplements—along with additional swag for the 鶹ýAVPD K-9s’ handlers—on Friday [July 19].

CVM representatives, including Henderson’s daughter Faith, a second-year 鶹ýAVDoctor of Veterinary Medicine student, delivered the gifts to the 鶹ýAVPD’s four-legged officers—Bash, Bessi, Coda and Miguel.

“We are passionate about partnering with organizations that share our love for animals, and as a DVM graduate, I am passionate about MSU,” Henderson said. “Law enforcement K-9s are specifically trained to protect and serve, and that’s why we proudly support numerous working dog organizations like this one around the country and the four-legged heroes they train.”

鶹ýAVPD Chief Kenneth Rogers praised Nutramax for its support and said the campus and the local community are safer with the K-9s at peak health.

“We utilize them to support a number of events on campus in addition to the support we provide other law enforcement agencies when called upon. They provide a valuable service to our community, and keeping them healthy is of the utmost importance,” he said of the K-9s, who assist in explosives and narcotics detection and tracking and patrol efforts. “This partnership with Nutramax will assist in that effort and have them ready to respond when called to do so.”

MSU’s relationship with Nutramax is just one of many collaborations with industry vital to fulfilling the university’s mission of learning, service and research, said Jimmy Kight, CVM senior director of development.

“Dr. Henderson is a proud alumnus, parent and supporter of MSU. The support he and his company provide help to make the university a better place, and we are incredibly grateful for his investments in our people and K-9s.”
